Cadiz Province is situated in the south of Andalucia, with the city of Cádiz the capital.
The coast of Cadiz province offers some of the best beaches in Spain and Andalusia. Here you will also find the Sierra de Cadiz, which sets the benchmark for rural tourism in the country.
The province is bordered on the north by the provinces of Huelva and Sevilla, in the east is the province of Malaga, Cadiz has to the Southwest the Atlantic coast, while to the Southeast the province touches the Mediterranean Sea. Finally to the south is the Strait of Gibraltar and the English Gibraltar region.
The province of Cadiz now lives mainly from tourism and other tertiary sector activities, in addition to various industries. The province of Cadiz is divided into 44 municipalities and 6 'counties': Bay of Cadiz, Jerez Campina, Northwest Coast, Sierra, Janda and Campo de Gibraltar.
The Bay of Cadiz has El Puerto de Santa María, Puerto Real, Chiclana de la Frontera and San Fernando, whereas the cadiz countryside is home to Jerez de la Frontera and rural districts such as the neighbouring town of San José del Valle. On the northwest Coast of Cadiz you will find the towns of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Chipiona and Rota, all neighbouring the Doñana Natural Park.
The Sierra de Cádiz and the Sierra de Grazalema are home to important towns such as Arcos de la Frontera, Ubrique, Villamartin, Olvera, which all form part of the Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos.
La Janda area in the province central interior part of the province and coast, which is where Medina Sidonia and Barbate are situated.
The Campo de Gibraltar is home to Algeciras, the main town in the area, as well as other major towns such as La Linea de la Concepción, San Roque and Tarifa.
